Tushita Meditation Centre
Courses in Dharamshala
Tushita Meditation Centre in Dharamshala offered several courses again led by Ondy during her visit there this year, from mid-February through to mid-May.
This is a thriving and well-respected Meditation Centre, whose many visiting teachers lead courses and retreats. The place is mainly run by volunteers, who work tirelessly to ensure the thousands of students who do retreat there have perfect opportunities for study and reflection.

Tibetan Buddhist Tantric Retreat
Meeting The Medicine Buddha
An opportunity to build a relationship with the Buddha of Healing
“Normally people think that Medicine Buddha is for healing but it’s not only that! You can use the Medicine Buddha practice for ANY purpose, ANY problem, ANYTHING. The Medicine Buddha practice is so precious.”
Lama Zopa Rinpoche
The first was a Tibetan Buddhist Tantric Retreat focusing on recitation and meditation with teachings explaining the fundamentals of this profound Buddhist Practice. Not for beginners.
We had a small, committed group of practitioners with meditations led by an experienced nun, Venerable Tsomo. It was chilly and wet at that time of year in the village of Dharamkot, where the centre nestles amid pines populated by monkeys, so we braved the cold well wrapped up in shawls, coats, hats and gloves. But through the power of the practice we created between us a warmth of love and wellbeing that lit us up from within.

Student testimonial
A personal testimonial from one student on the 2026 Introduction to Buddhism Course
“Thank you for all your efforts in teaching us these last 10 days. I found your lectures incredibly engaging, informative, clear and organised. Your teachings and explanations of intricate topics were consistent, which is so important for a student’s understanding, especially when covering a topic as large and abstract at times as Buddhism. You teach with such a sense of joy and wonder that it was miraculously easy for me to stay engaged in all those hours of class time. I have been interested in Asian religions, specifically Buddhism, since college and took a number of classes on the topic which is a large reason I gravitated towards Tushita. What you managed to teach in 10 days surpassed any amount of knowledge and clarity I received from any of these semester long classes. This is not a criticism of my college professors but rather praise of your teaching. Anyway, I want to thank you not only for all of the information about Buddhism but also instilling in me an interest in adopting the faith on a personal/spiritual level. This is the first time I have made a commitment to any kind of religion. We’ll see how it goes outside the walls of Tushita in that noisy, chaotic world. I hope you continue to teach for a long time for the sake of future Tushita students. THANK YOU!”
